Pizza Stop #8:
1321 W Grand Ave
Starting this week off strong! This was 1 of 4 stops on the “Chicago Pizza Tour” I went to on this past Sunday. This is not the kind of pizza I normally eat, but man am I glad I tried this place! I tried 3 different pizzas here so I am going to break them all down below.
Nice smoky flavor with fresh ingredients. It was a good slice but honestly, I am not a margherita / plain cheese kind of guy so this one just wasn’t for me. I need more flavors and toppings on my pizzas to really get excited but my personal preference aside, it was still a good tasting slice.
Pepperoni & Whipped Ricotta:
This was the star of the show here and by far the best pizza I tried on the tour. The ricotta cheese on the pizza really complimented the pepperoni and just tied it all together as an awesome flavorful pizza. Not to mention, this was also a VERY good tasting pepperoni. My wife loved it as well and already wants to go back. I could definitely see this becoming a regular in my household as I am already craving another slice while writing this at home. Whether you are in the area or have to make long drive, this is definitely one to add on your must try list!

I forgot to take a picture of this one as it was brought out later, but its toppings were soppressata, bacon jam, stracciatella, and chive. Admittingly, I don’t even know what half of those ingredients are as I’m a keep it simply guy when it comes to pizza. A few people on the tour loved it and while it had an interesting flavor, I can’t say it is my idea of a good pizza.
