Frozen Friday’s #5:
Giacobbino’s Pepperoni Take & Bake Pan Pizza
______________________________
I saw this one at Jewel quite a few times but never tried it thanks to its insane price for a frozen pizza ($13).
Giacobbino’s is apparently a brand that’s made by Connie’s. Why they don’t just sell it under the Connie’s brand I really don’t know. It looks like a traditional Chicago pan pizza which as far as I know is unheard of in the frozen space. It definitely looked promising and gave me high hopes judging by its presentation. Once cooked it smelled great and even resembled more of an actual pizza over a frozen one.
Unfortunately I was extremely catfished on this one. I took a bite and this would be best described as the bimbo of frozen pizza. All looks and no personality (or taste in this case). Bland, very little sauce and mostly just bread and cheese. My 8yr old son who also loves pizza didn’t like this one either. “..meh” was his response when I asked him how it was and I think that perfectly sums this pizza. Absolute Meh.
I honestly feel robbed for the $13 I paid for this. If you’re going to sell a frozen pizza for $13, it better be one of the best frozen pizzas out there and this is definitely not that.
