Frozen Fridays #2:
Nancy’s Stuffed Pizza
______________________________
This is definitely the best frozen pizza I’ve reviewed so far! Very slight hint that it is still frozen pizza, but it 90% tastes like you are at the restaurant and definitely way better than the Gino’s East frozen deep dish you get from Jewel.
It may look small, but this is actually a ton of pizza because of how thick it is. I’ve never been a fan of calling pizzas “pies”, but pizza of this kind will most definitely get a pass. Despite being hungry and not eating much throughout the day in anticipation to try this, I was ready to tap out in a little less than 1/3 of the pizza. You know pizza is good when you go for an extra slice or two even though you are full and I regrettably did just that. Definitely a very heavy but delicious pizza.
On the flipside, these are not cheap to buy / ship, especially since they need to be shipped in a insulated box using 2 day delivery so it stays frozen. It’s a excellent option if you are not from Chicago or want to send someone a good stuffed pizza, but if you are local it would make a lot more sense to just eat at one of their many Nancy’s locations instead.
I had both pepperoni and sausage but liked the sausage pizza better. It would be even better if they had one with both pepperoni AND sausage.
