In for today’s review.. Pizza Tango in Chicago, IL. Despite my wife working nearby this place, I have never tried it and was one of the many pizzerias I basically just skim past. However I’ve had a few followers say it was a slept on good pizza so I had to finally give it a go.
Here I ordered a 16” Sausage pizza which was well priced at about $22.
I had my wife pick this one up on her way home from work. As you can see from the photos, the toppings and cheese became a mess and slid off to the side. I’m not sure if this was due to them releasing the pizza before it had time to cool and set or it sliding around in transport, but by the looks of it, it was probably both. In case you wondered, my starving wife is also the reason why the pizza in the photos happens to be missing a few slices!
Honestly while I love pizza, this journey to review them all can get a little exhausting at times. Not because I get tired of pizza, but because I get tired of bad or subpar pizza and unfortunately.. there is more of that out there than there is of good / great and noteworthy pizza. I’m sure if I just hit the top 20 list of pizza places I’ll end up with mostly home runs, but that’ll kind of defeat the point as I’m out here to discover the neighborhood gems, not just the same places that are talked about on any non original “top pizza” list.
Fortunate for me, this place was the fresh breathe of air that I needed. This pizza had a great crust and a delicious tangy sauce that stood out the most. Sausage was not the best but still a pretty good one. Despite the sloppy appearance from the delivery mishap, this was a solid and delicious pizza.
